Amy Griffith, CSBA grew up in northern Ohio, just west of Cleveland in a small town called Avon. She graduated from high school in 1993 and went on to the University of Cincinnati to study Architectural Engineering, graduating in 1998. Throughout her college years she co-oped with various companies; ATC Associates, Inc., Hrezo Engineering, Inc. and Baxter Hodell Donnelly Preston, Inc., gaining knowledge of all phases of the construction process.
After graduation, Amy moved to South Lake Tahoe and perfected her snowboarding skills while working part time for Architect Gary McKelvey, AIA, where she developed construction documents for high end custom homes. From there, Amy went on to live in Pacific Grove, CA, an ocean side town along the central coast, and worked for a structural engineering firm, Howard Carter Associates, Inc., gaining a vast knowledge of structures and how to build them.
This all led Amy to Portland, Oregon, her current home, with no plans to leave. Upon her arrival she worked for Architect Bruce Sinkey, AIA of Northwest Architectural LLC, designing and project managing many of his commercial and residential projects. At the same time, she was teaching CAD drafting and sketching at ITT Technical Institute. In 2005, Amy decided she wanted to work for herself, Broken Box Designs, LLC was developed, and she's never looked back!
